Sharks have been swimming in Earth's oceans for over 450 million years, surviving every mass extinction event in history. Today they face a threat unlike anything before: overfishing and the fin trade have pushed many species to the brink. Understanding where sharks go is one of the most important tools researchers have for protecting them.
Each Fahlo Voyage Plush includes a QR code. Scan it with the free Fahlo Animal Tracker app on any Android or Apple device and you'll be assigned a real shark to follow through the ocean. You'll see its name, tracking history, and movement updates as it travels. Sharks are tracked via satellite tags that transmit location data when the animal surfaces. Tracking data may be live, delayed, or historical based on safety protocols set by Fahlo's conservation partners.
The Voyage Plush is made in partnership with Saving the Blue, a nonprofit dedicated to shark conservation through research, education, and policy advocacy. Their tracking work builds the scientific case for stronger ocean protections in the regions where sharks are most at risk. A portion of every purchase funds that mission directly.
Sharks play a critical role in keeping ocean ecosystems in balance. Without them, prey populations grow unchecked and reef systems suffer. Tracking one on the Fahlo app is a chance to follow an animal that most people fear but that the ocean genuinely cannot do without.
