The For the Culture series from St. Louis artist Cbabi Bayoc (the name is an acronym for "Creative Black Artist Battling Ignorance, Blessed African Youth of Creation") takes twelve pages of warm narrative African American art in For the Culture 2027 Wall Calendar. Bayoc has been working as a painter, muralist, and illustrator since the late 1990s, and his "365 Days With Dad" project (a daily painting of Black fatherhood completed in 2012) drew national attention. The For the Culture series anchors his work for Shades of Color and runs annually. The featured artwork celebrates Black culture across generations: family gatherings, community elders, fatherhood and motherhood moments, kids reading, and the everyday scenes that build the wider cultural fabric. This title comes from Shades of Color.
For Bayoc collectors, Black culture households, and anyone whose favorite art on the wall already includes a "365 Days With Dad" print, the For the Culture series is the natural next addition. The narrative scenes carry a year's worth of family looking back.
