The Rubik's Pulse 3x3 Light-Up Cube takes the standard 3x3 Rubik's Cube format and adds built-in LEDs that light the faces during play, turning the classic twist puzzle into a glow-in-the-dark race-the-clock challenge for speed cubers. Rubik's has been the foundational twist-puzzle brand since Erno Rubik invented the cube in 1974, and the Pulse line represents one of the more recent innovations on the format. The cube layout matches a standard 3x3, so cubers who already know speed-solving algorithms can apply them directly, from Rubik's.
Speed cubers who already work standard Rubik's Cubes will find the Pulse adds a visual layer to the same solve they already know, and brain-teaser collectors building out a Rubik's shelf will get a light-up entry that stands out from the standard model. The 8-and-up rating also makes the Pulse an option for kids ready to learn cubing but who would benefit from a more visually engaging cube than the basic version. The light-up effect also makes the cube usable in lower-light settings where standard Rubik's faces wash out, which extends play to evening commutes or dim living rooms.
