More Info

A versatile artist, Al Agnew began his career painting in transparent watercolor, and throughout the years has produced artwork in a variety of formats, but most recently has painted exclusively in oils. His museum-quality original artworks are highly-sought after by collectors around the world.

As a nature artist, Agnew captures the essences of wildlife, focusing on his subjects with the intensity of the predators that he loves to depict. Whether on trips to Africa and Alaska, roaming the backcountry of Montana and Wyoming, or wading a trout stream with a fly rod in hand, the sights and experiences are channeled from his mind and memory to the stroke of his brush on canvas. It is this love and respect for the wildlife of North America and Africa, combined with his extraordinary skill of interpretation, which has earned him numerous awards and accolades throughout his 30 plus year career as an artist. His artwork has been featured in many major art publications, along with sporting magazines such as Field and Stream, Outdoor Life, In-Fisherman, Sporting Classics, and North American Fisherman.

When not traveling, Agnew and his wife can be found at their home on the banks of the Yellowstone River in Montana, where his restored log cabin studio overlooks a beautiful stretch of trout water.
