More Info
Susan Bourdet grew up in western Montana, learning early to love nature. At the age of 12, Susan discovered watercolor after being captivated by a local artists demonstration. Susans career as a watercolorist flourished after she joined a group of nature artists and began to show her work in local galleries. From that point on, her popularity grew nationwide and includes such honors as exhibiting in the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Birds in Art Show, the Society of Animal Artists show, Art and the Animal, and being a featured artist at the Pacific Rim Wildlife Art Show. She now has over 50 limited editions, and several instructional videos published by Creative Catalyst. Her luminous watercolors combine realistically detailed birds with soft, impressionistic backgrounds, a technique that has evolved through years of painting. With her husband and family, Susan lives on several wooded acres and continues to travel to find inspiration for her paintings. She enjoys sharing her unique methods with other artists and nature lovers in watercolor workshops and seminars.
