The work of Alphonse Mucha (1860â€“1939), a Moravian artist who trained in Paris, is said to epitomize Art Nouveau. He has become best known for his poster designs, but Mucha was an accomplished artist and designer who also created interiors and designed jewelry, carpets and fabrics. The strong compositions, subtle colors and detailed, elegant decoration of his work, easily lent itself to advertising posters. Each captivating glittered image is paired with a piece of text concerning the artist's life and works.
